God has blessed me with a job that is much more than I asked for in terms of location, rates and technologies. Since my wife and I moved to Australia earlier this year, we've been through hard times. And all through the hard times, we've felt God's presence with us. Now when we look back, we thank and give praise to God for allowing the hardships to happen. We've seen our pride, arrogance and self reliance take a huge hit and got pruned all along.
After working for a short term contract close to home, I was offered a full time job. I was very unhappy and very uneasy at this job. And to top it, we had our baby boy come into the world a few weeks early. I could work only 8 hours a day, although the job demanded that I work longer and take the job home. The job is ideal for somebody whose first love and passion is their work. Since I became a Christian, the job went down in the priority list after God and my family.
After praying and consulting with some God's people, I quit my job. God allowed my previous employer to contract me for a couple of weeks. During this time, God opened up the doors. God gave me another contracting job, which I wasnt too happy since it was with a gaming company. I was praying to God to see if getting a contract at Monash Uni was part of his plan. Apparently it was.
Initially I was under the impression that the contract at Monash would pay $100 less. But as usual God had other plans. The recruiter called up and told me that they were gonna pay me $104 more than what was agreed earlier. Mysterious are the ways of God. He has been so faithful and loving.
This job is only one of the many wonderful things God has done in our lives. He has made thingshappen in his own time and every time its been much much more and better than what we prayed and hoped for.
During the past 6+ months, the few scriptures that have been spoken to me in my head are "walk by faith and not by sight" and "be still and know that I'm God".
