Loving The House

October 21, 2009

Over the last few weeks we've been looking at loving the house/family/body (the local church).  Jesus says, "Zeal for your house consumes me." And we want to be a people who are passionate about the things God is passionate about.

Loving the house isn't about what you do in the house; it isn't about your ministry or area or the gifting that you have.  It's about loving the people who God has called you to build with for this season.  It's about what you can give, not what you can get.  It's about loving the house, not just the house loving you.  Loving the local church is so key in an age of consumerism where we're told to shop around and pick the things we like from as many churches, conferences and speakers we can.  It's being knit into and loving the local church that releases you to minister, to take the Kingdom into your work place/school/community, and to have a lasting impact.

The local church is what gives you the context to go! Will you be someone who loves the local church?
