Choices - Part 2
September 10, 2009
I was listening to the radio yesterday and heard a guy talking who is an expert in un-cluttering your house and ultimately your life. He said something that I thought totally applies to us as Christians. In relation to un-cluttering your house he said, "Write a statement of who you want to be and what you want out of life. Then make choices of what to keep and what to get rid of based on whether those things are helping you achieve/become that statement."
For us as Christians that totally applies to our lives. We are a people who are called to live for something greater than ourselves. There are things that God has spoken to us in His word and individually around which we need to shape our lives. See, many of the choices we face are already decided if we are living for His glory and ordering our lives around His plan and what He's spoken. There are non-negotiables in the Bible that we need to let shape our lives and shape our choices about those activities and things that we keep and that we need to get rid of.
Lord, help me be a person who lives a life worthy of your calling and who doesn't let the clutter of all the other things I could be doing detract from You and who You have called me to be!
